Delfins Beach Resort —
VRF Climate Installation, Bonaire

Introduction

For the MFG building at Delfins Beach Resort in Bonaire, Cool & Climate Solutions designed and installed a complete VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) climate system.

The result: a comfortable, energy-efficient environment across all meeting rooms, corridors, and communal spaces — perfectly suited to the demands of a modern hospitality setting in the Caribbean.

Why VRF?

When it comes to climate control in commercial buildings, not every system is created equal. For a project of this scale and complexity, we chose a VRF system for several key reasons.

A VRF system allows multiple indoor units — in this case, ceiling cassettes by Mitsubishi Electric — to operate independently from a single outdoor unit. Each zone can be cooled to its own desired temperature simultaneously, giving full flexibility across different rooms and spaces. This is essential in a multi-room facility like a conference and meeting centre, where usage patterns vary throughout the day.

Beyond flexibility, VRF technology is significantly more energy-efficient than traditional systems. By continuously adjusting the refrigerant flow to match the exact demand of each zone, the system avoids the energy waste associated with on/off cycling. In a tropical climate like Bonaire’s, where cooling runs year-round, that efficiency translates directly into lower operational costs.

The cassette units are installed flush into the ceiling, making them virtually invisible within the interior — a key requirement for a high-end hospitality environment. Combined with whisper-quiet operation, guests and delegates experience perfect comfort without distraction.

This installation was completed to the highest European standards, F-Gas certified, and built to last in the Caribbean’s warm and humid conditions.
